What is included in the price of my trip?

What is NOT included in the price of my trip?

  1. International or internal flights unless specified
  2. Visa and passport fees
  3. Departure taxes, excess baggage fees, or airport transfers unless specified
  4. Insurance of any kind
  5. Meals and drinks not specified
  6. Optional activities
  7. Items of personal nature, laundry, postage

Travel Documents
All participants will be provided with a detailed list of required travel documents relating to the nature and destination of each Venture Expeditions trip. All trips not based in the U.S.A will require a valid Passport that must be valid 6 months past your tour return date. In addition, all other required documentation such as: all visas, permits and certificates including vaccination certificates, and insurance policies, will be clearly stated in the prep packet sent to all participants upon acceptance to each specific trip. It is the participants responsibility to arrange visas and passports unless otherwise indicated.

Accommodations
Venture Expeditions takes pride in providing an off-the-beaten-path experience. Trip accommodations will vary from tenting to hostels to hotels. Participants need to be open to "roughing it" or not always knowing where they will stay at night.

Cancellation by the Participant
Any cancellation by a participant must be made in writing and acknowledged by Venture Expeditions. Since Venture Expeditions is a 501(c)3, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Cancellation by Venture Expeditions
Venture Expeditions will hold on to all deposit checks until the trip is full. In the event that Venture Expeditions cancels a trip, participants will be advised to join another trip offered by Venture Expeditions or have the option to withdraw.

Itineraries
The nature of our trips requires a considerable amount of flexibility. It should be understood that the route, schedules, itineraries, amenities and mode of transport may be subject to alteration without prior notice due to local circumstances or events, which may include sickness or mechanical breakdown, flight cancellations, strikes, events emanating from political disputes, entry or border difficulties, climate and other unpredictable or unforeseen circumstance. In the event of a change to the itinerary, all participants will be notified as soon as possible. Some trips may have a very limited itinerary.

Health and Fitness
Venture Expeditions provides trips that are both strenuous and physically demanding. Participants should be physically fit and must complete a physical before the trip.

Prices and Surcharges
Venture Expeditions reserves the right to impose surcharges (price increases) up to 30 days before departure due to unfavorable changes in exchange rates, increases in air fares or other transportation/fuel costs, increases in local operator costs, taxes, or if government action should require us to do so. We almost never do this.

Brochure and Website Validity
The prices in posted in any brochure or on our website are based on airfares, exchange rates and costs in effect at time of printing the brochure or posting to our website. Venture Expeditions reserves the right to alter prices for new bookings if these rates change.

Acceptance of Risk
All participants acknowledge that the nature of the tour is adventurous and may involve a significant amount of personal risk. Every participant hereby assumes all such risk and does hereby release Venture Expeditions from all claims and causes of action arising from any damages or injuries or death resulting from these inherent risks. Prior to trip commencement each participant must sign a waiver of liability form.

Optional Activities
Participants are expected to understand that there may be opportunities to undertake activities, which do not form part of the itinerary. These activities are under NO supervision of Venture Expeditions and operate under their own liability laws. Under no circumstance is Venture Expeditions to be responsible for any safety or actions of any optional activity.

Tour Leadership
At all times the decision of Venture Expeditions trip leader or representative will be final on all matters likely to endanger the safety and well-being of the tour. By participating on a Venture Expeditions tour, participants agree to abide by the authority of the tour leader or Venture Expeditions representative.

Factors out of Venture Expedition’s control (Force Majeure)
Venture Expeditions will not be liable in any way to the participant for death, bodily injury, illness, damage, delay or other loss or detriment to person or property or for the company’s failure to commence, perform and/ or complete any duty owed to the participant if such death, delay, bodily injury (including emotional distress or injury), illness, damage or other loss or detriment to person or property is cause by an Act of God, war or war like operations, terrorist activities or threat thereof, civil commotions, labor difficulties, whether or not the company is a party thereto, interference by authorities, political disturbance, howsoever and where so ever any of the same may arise or be caused, riot, insurrection and government restraint, fire, or any other cause whatsoever beyond the reasonable control of Venture Expeditions.

Insurance
It is recommended that all participants obtain travel insurance while participating on all Venture Expeditions trips. Insurance is available through the International Volunteer Card. Details are available upon request.

Local Conditions
Each participant acknowledges that he/she will be visiting places where the political, cultural and geographical attributes present certain risks, dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in our daily lives. All participants are solely responsible for acquainting themselves with the customs, weather conditions, physical challenges and laws in effect at each stop along the itinerary, and is encourages to locate or make contact prior to embarkation with his/her local embassy or consulate in each destination.
