  The Presentation

The Venture Expeditions message is a challenge to step out in courage, to be motivated by compassion, and to see impossible dreams fulfilled by God’s grace. Venture unapologetically embraces trials as God’s method of forming character in us, just as Christ embraced the cross.

The underlying theme is endurance and long-haul commitment. These truths are set against the backdrop of Venture’s inspiring stories of cross-country bike tours, distant mountain-climbing treks, and state-long runs. Venture embraces both the demonstration and proclamation of the Gospel in seeing the transformation of lives around the world.

  Potential Topics Include

  • God’s Dream in You
  • The Intersection of Courage and Compassion
  • A Biblical Theology of Justice
  • The Power of Suffering
  • Risk, Failure, and Obedience
  • Oppression and Opportunity
  • Find What Wrecks You and Feed It
  Our Speakers

We can come as individuals or a team of two speakers.

Paul Hurckman | Executive Director – Hear a Clip of Paul Hurckman

Paul has experience as a professor, pastor and national speaker. He was the Young Adult and Spiritual Formation Pastor at a leading church in Dallas, as well as a leader in higher education for more than 14 years, co-directing the Center for Youth and Leadership as a professor at North Central University.  Paul combines these experiences to engage and inspire students to embrace how they are made, and to take the next step of faith God is calling them to take on behalf of others. Paul is currently a PhD student in International Relief and Development.

Ryan Skoog | Co-Founder – Hear a Clip of Ryan Skoog

Ryan's energetic style engages audiences and inspires people to action. He has spoken in over 15 nations—at churches, chapels in various colleges, and to non-profits including World Vision. He served as a youth and teaching pastor at a leading Minneapolis church before embracing opportunity to co-found Venture. He currently speaks at retreats, chapels, and services for adults and youth.

Aaron Smith | Co-Founder

Aaron’s story of courage describes his experiences after stepping out to co-found Venture. Many outlets already featured his story, including the 700 Club, the Dallas Catalyst conference, several colleges, and churches of different denominations. He shares—with humility and genuineness—the story of how God took a simple idea and turned into a nationwide movement. His story is filled with big risks, significants losses, and a powerful obedience that challenges audiences to follow God’s dream for their life.
