Profile Information

About Me:
I am 24 years old and I am married to the most amazing woman I have ever met! I graduated with a degree in International Development from North Central University in 2009 and I hope to spend my life traveling the world and helping people to love others and love God too. My passions are: My wife, SNOWBOARDING!!!!, traveling, cycling through downtown Minneapolis, and adventures!!! I'm all about going to new places and seeing and trying new things.
Birthday:
April 19, 1985
Why I'm involved in Venture Expeditions:
I've been involved with Venture for over 4 years now, and what keeps me around is the heart that we have! I'm all about benefiting the world and discovering new things about myself. I love to travel, I love to push myself to the limits, but I also love to work hand in hand with people from other cultures. I work at Venture because I get to do all of those things while also helping other people to get involved and to learn more about themselves. Plus traveling the world is great!! who wouldn't want to be a part of an organization that sends you to Mt. Kilimanjaro or the Great Wall of China!!

We've only just begun...

It's crazy to think that after a few more hours working at the Ban Pong Center, our team will hop on a plane and start our 30+ hour journey home. The last 8 days has been an overwhelming experience for all of us on the team. I was a little worried that our team wouldn't be able to bond, really experience Thailand, or have an intimate experience with Christ in such a short amount of time, but boy was I wrong!

We've only just begun... This trip has brought our team together in a way I… Continue

OH Snap! Thanksgiving in Thailand?

I can't believe it! Our Thailand trip has been such a blast but it's been flying by so quickly. Today was the first day that we haven't had a schedule jammed packed with activities. It's crazy that just a couple of days ago I was utterly exhausted and posted a blog about preparing to head north to Chiang Rai and Mae Sae. That trip seemed like ages ago, and it would be too much for me to post individual updates on every aspect of our trip, so I'll sum it all up with one word...… Continue

5 hours of sleep over the past 40 hours.

I AM TIRED!!! Man am I tired. 5 hours of sleep over a period of 40 hours of traveling is just not enough. And on top of that, I need to push myself to stay awake for another hour to ensure I get over the time change. As I type this post, I am overwhelmed with a never ceasing attack of yawns and sleepie eyes. However, Thailand has proven to be a pretty amazing place. So far we've consumed some delicious food, encountered some crazy driving, played soccer, and even went to a Thai version of… Continue

What up Bangkok!

So.... we've been in transit now for something like 22+ hours. It's 4am at the Bangkok International Airport and my makeshift chair bed just isn't as comfortable as I was hoping it would be. So I says to myself... "why not post a blog!" And here I am!

Our team is having a blast so far. We've kept ourselves busy by playing hangman, eating airplane food, and lots of laughter (which most likely annoyed our fellow passengers). I know these next 9 days will fly by, but the plan is to pack… Continue

A night slightly different than every other night...

So tonight looks much like a typical night at home. Kristina is doing loads of homework, and I'm working from home. The only difference about tonight is that TOMORROW WE LEAVE FOR THAILAND!!!!!

We are so stoked! You don't even know! Our bags are packed, I have a tiny list of some last min items I need to pick up tomorrow, and after a few hours (2 DAYS!!!!) of travel time we will be in Chiang Mai Thailand!

I can already taste the spicy Awesome food! Here's a quick overview of… Continue

That is fine. I just ask that it is of a size that I can easily carry for the weeks before I visit. I have not talked to him, but I have been corresponding with Seth via email here and there.

But I am really nervous about my team leader...word on the street is that last time he climbed the moutian he had explosive diarrhea and it took him months to get down the mountian.
