It has been over a year since I have posted a blog on this part of the Venture site.  It the the part where participants can blog about their trip, communicate with their community of supporters, and try to explain what is happening inside of them as they log miles by biking, hiking, or running.

A year ago I was blogging about my trip to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, to raise awareness for better education solutions in Nairobi, Kenya.  This year I will will be writing about my ride from Joplin, MO through Tuscaloosa, AL and on to the Catalyst Conference in Atlanta.  Last year I wrote as a trip leader, who was on the Board of Directors for Venture Expeditions.  This year I will write as a trip leader, as well as the Executive Director of Venture.

I am not sure how the trips will differ, but I am interested in how I am different.  I believe that these experiences change people - permanently.  I feel like when we place ourselves in a place of sacrifice that we come out different.

So I am excited to get in the van tomorrow, and head to Springfield.  I am excited to meet the team in person on Friday.  i am excited to thank the folks at Catalyst, Convoy, and Hello Somebody, for being such a huge part of this tour.  And I am excited to be different as a result.
