I love the last stanza of this poem...it's fitting for a bike tour.

Read it out loud to get the full effect.

...And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow --
Shadow, said he,
Where can it be --
This land of El Dorado?

Over the mountains
of the moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride
,
The shade replied --
If you seek for El Dorado.

-Edgar Allan Poe

I just discovered the blogging feature on this website and am now spending way too much time reading everyone else's blogs. =o) I'm new to Venture (and to cycling actually) and am super excited to head out on the Underground Railroad tour this summer. And it's funny because right before I read your blog, I just got off the phone with a friend who told me to buy a brooks b-17 saddle. Anyway, sorry for stalking. =o) Hope you're having a lovely spring.
