We made it to Singapore at 3 am after a 13 hour flight to Tokyo and a delayed 8 hour flight to Singapore. Alaithia did amazing, but it was really hard for her. She only slept 3-5 total in the 24 hours that we were traveling. I've never seen a one-year-old sooo tired. Needless to say she is a little crabby. I think the hardest thing about it is that Krista and I couldn't sleep because we were trying to entertain her and prevent her from crying and waking up the other passengers. At times the flights seemed endless, but we made it.
It is fun to see Alaithia experience "Asia." Everything is an adventure, even our taxi ride last night where she traveled for the first time without a car seat. Somehow we ended up in a "limo" taxi that cost us way too much, but we made it to the airport where we slept a couple of hours and cleaned up. That was nice. For our second night here, we are now staying with our friend Hakan. He is an amazing person and very nice. Tim knows him if you want more info about him.
This has been the first time I've been able to get online. I received an email from Tom Ritchey saying that he is going to make it to +!@#$et. I guess the situation in BKK didn't ruin our trip after all. He is arriving 30 minutes after we arrive there tomorrow. Mark and Janie are already in +!@#$et, he had to drive down early to take some people from Chiang Mai to a triathlon. They will be there to pick up Alaithia and Krista.
That's about it on this front. Some of the highlights so far:
-A lot of time with my two favorite people
-A nice little Christian cafe next to the hotel
-Alaithia seeing so many new things
-Hakan's hospitality
-Our nice hotel with an endless pool that looks over the ocean and shipping yards
-Seeing the city of Singapore
Alright, I'll keep you all posted.
