I love spring in Kentucky. The world wakes up in the most spectacular way. It starts out slow. First the daffodils peek out. They grow wild here and come in various shades of yellow and white. If the temps stay cool they will last for several weeks. Next the slightest hues of pale green start to emerge. One day its so slight, like the color yellow green then the greens get deeper and start to fill in the once empty spaces. The other exquisite colors of spring in Kentucky are purple and whites. When the greens start getting deeper the woods come alive with purple Red Buds. Everywhere you look purple pops. Then as the purple glows the Dogwoods bloom, most are milky white but some are pink. Nature paints a glorious picture in Kentucky's springtime extravaganza.

Man, that's beautiful! I can't wait for green to return to Alaska. We have crocuses blooming between our house and the 2-foot pile of snow. =o)
