A team of 15 people are in the Birmingham area this weekend in hopes to bring awareness to modern-day slavery.
The “5 Weeks for Freedom” campaign started in Mobile, Alabama on June 26 and will end in Buffalo, New York on July 30.
The riders will cycle 1800 miles during the 5 week period, riding along the historic Underground Railroad.
The group is headed by the International Justice Mission (IJM), whose mission is to fight slavery, sex trafficking and other forms of violent injustice in partnership with local governments in 13 developing countries. Video from NBC13
